Employment of Staff

Ours is a labour intensive business, therefore 70 % of our effort must be focused on our people. We spend extra time selecting staff carefully prior to a contract starting. We do not necessarily look for experienced staff, we look for an individual that we believe will fit into our culture of excellence and then train them into our methods and ways of operating.
At a cleaner level, as an example, candidates must be:

  • Functionally literate
  • Neat, presentable, friendly and courteous
  • Physically able to achieve our productivity standards
  • Understand the need for flexibility and change
  • Prepared to undergo training and assessment prior to being offered an employment contract
At Super Clean, we spend the first two weeks of every month training new unemployed staff in our classroom. They spend a further two weeks on a site to gain more practical experience and only then are they ready to relieve staff going on leave, take up positions at new contracts and so on. We train 10 new staff every month, so that we have a permanent pipeline of competent and trained professionals to satisfy our new contracts and for replacement purposes at our existing sites.
SIYAYA TRAINING

Super Clean has partnered with Siyaya Skills Institute, a highly reputable and accredited Training provider and Skills Development Specialist, to implement and align performance and strategic objectives to ongoing and planned skills development processes.
As a result, different profiles of employees from cleaners, quality reps, team leaders, supervisors, site and area managers all have a structured developmental process linked to registered Unit Standards and Industry Qualifications. Every new employee goes through a structured Training program before being allowed on site.

Well done on all these achievements, the attitude you are demonstrating enspires us too, because we hope to achieve this goal with all our stakeholders." Senisha Moonsamy, Chamber Manager Services SETA
Our staff have to pass both the knowledge assessment and practical assessment to achieve competency. These are performed by our qualified Assessors. We already have a number of staff who have completed the Assessors Development Program. Assessments are moderated by the Siyaya Skills Institute. Results of all assessments are sent to SETA for verification and registration of credits on the National Qualifications Framework. Super Clean participates fully in the National Skills Development Initiative and has been applauded by the Services SETA for its active role.
