At the presentation of the Golden Service Awards in Johannesburg on Thursday, 19 October 2006, Super Clean was triumphant. The Kimberley Clark sponsored event was held in South Africa for the second year. The event started in England 15 years ago, and the Awards are now considered to be the coveted Oscars of the Cleaning World.
Golden Service Awards contests are also organized in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Scandinavian countries, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Although Kimberley Clark sponsors the event, they do not participate in assessing the entries. A jury, composed of 'guru's' of the Cleaning Industry, spend lots of time, travelling thousands of kilometres to assess all entries. In fact, the 'Oscars' are awarded by the Cleaning Industry and sponsored by Kimberley Clark.
Entries can be submitted in various categories, e.g. Health Care, Education, Commercial and Hospitality. "In 2007, our staff member, Kathy Rennie of St Mary's Hospital, again won the title of 'Supervisor of the Year' and one of our sites, LR Plastics, won in the micro industrial category.

Super Clean was the only company in Natal to be a finalist in the Healthcare category."
Awards were also available for Training Excellence, the Site Supervisor of the Year and the Cleaning Company of the Year.
During a ceremony at the Emperor's Court Convention Centre in Johannesburg, the Awards were presented by Michael Mol from the well-known program Top Billing.
Similar to the presentation of the Academy Awards, the official title of the Oscars, nominations were read, and then with tension at maximum, Michael read: 'and the winner is ...'
It was for Training and Supervision, two of the most prestigious awards, that Super Clean achieved success. The Award for Training Excellence was for the training program of their staff and Kathy Rennie, Supervisor at St. Mary's Hospital, won the title 'Supervisor of the Year' out of 84 entries.
Super Clean also scored several nominations, in Health Care (St. Mary's Hospital), Commercial (Alexander Forbes) and finally in the category 'Cleaning Company of the Year'.
